When they pick on my weaknesses like I’m really bad at sports and I have wanted to go a team for years but I remember one time I tried out for the basketball team and everyone just made me feel so terrible I used to love basketball even though I wasnt good at it but now I’m not so into it anymore

When I was younger people could kill my self esteem by rejecting me – whether it was a girl rejecting me when I asked them out, or a guy rejecting me somehow because I wasn’t cool or whatever.

Now that I’m a bit older and more comfortable with myself – I can honestly say nothing can kill my self esteem. I love who I am, and I can’t imagine anything changing that. Oh I still get rejected – from jobs, people, and what have you. And it still hurts. But it hurts my feelings – not my self esteem. I accept me, and that’s all that matters.

I think we should all strive to love who we are. Once we love ourselves, the rest of the world is a much brighter place. And once we love ourselves – it’s much easier for other people to love us. If your self esteem is low, try to find some ways to raise it. Do things you are good at, and things that make you happy.

If your self esteem is low enough to the point you don’t want to live anymore – please seek professional help. A school counselor, other counselor, or psychiatrist/psychologist is trained to help with situations like these. I saw a psychiatrist after my Mom died and it helped me. If you are questioning whether you want to live or not – I think a professional could help you too.

I hope this helps and good luck.
