    You’ve asked this question a couple times before, dear. My answer is the same–you need to seek out support. Whether it be in counseling or a support group, you need to get this taken care of. It is a destructive habit, but you can replace it with something positive.

    You need to learn to control your mind in a healthy way. As far as i’m concerned-you’re not hurting anyone else- so you can do whatever you want to your body as you’d please. If it makes you happy, you’re free to do it.

    However, is not a normal, healthy way to temporarily relieve your “problems” which your mind creates. Try doing something productive instead of something you have to hide or bear scars. Those scars aren;t scars of dong something worthy or honorable. Get out of your grief and life your life. Pursue true happiness that you’ve been given the chance to pursue.

    This is not a healthy way to relive stress! Try doing a sport or relaxing to a nice CD. You are losing blood which makes you lightheaded. This makes you feal kind of high but it is still no excuse! Please find a different way to relive your troubles! I hope you are better!

    THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY!!! cutting yourself is terrible. it leaves scars and if you cut yourself in the wrong places yyou can kill yourself. SEe a phyc and talk to your family. YOU NEED TO STOP. It is an UNHEALTHY HABBIT!!!!

    Self mutilation (cutting) is more common than you think. In fact as a teenager I used to do it myself. It is a sign that you are deeply troubled by something or many things. It isn’t normal and it isn’t ok to continue doing.

    The idea is to find some things to do that replace it. What worked for me was replacing cutting with other things that activate my senses. For example taking a bubble bath, putting on fuzzy comfy pajamas, taking a walk on a nice day, looking at art work, snuggling up with a good blanket and pillow, lighting good smelling candles or other aromatherapy, etc…. Using your senses like that will help you relieve the stress and give you the same effect as the cutting.

    You can also try writing in a journal. That works well. I think you do need to be seeing a counselor/therapist to help you with this. It is very serious whether it is meant to be an act of suicide or not. Do some internet research on the subject and see that you are not alone.

    I’m sorry you are hurting so much. Try to talk to a trusted adult about the situation and getting into therapy. I think it could help you quite a bit. Good luck!

    You are relieving pain inside that you can’t control…by afflicting pain on the ouitside that you can control.

    It is important that your read some books on the subjects that have hurt you “inside”, your heart, your soul, your mind. Working thru this alone may take longer and be hard, but may be possible. When you feel ready, please seek counseling. Choose who to see, where, how often…don’t choose the same couselors as your other friends or family. Do this privately.

    Examples of great books:

    “Why men hate women” by Adam Jukes (male aggression towards women)
    “Men who batter women” by Adam Jukes (abusive relationships/families)
    “Women who run with the wolves” Clarissa P. Estes (great book on women’s inner strengths)
    “The emotionally abused woman” Engel
    “No more Pain!” Vicki Duffy (self-mutilation self-help)

    Find a safe place to live, maybe a grand-parent, or an aunt, so you can recover. There are some state run teen centers too, ask around!

    You CAN reach peace and happiness again!
